Dates for the 9th Experimental Archaeology Conference 2015 confirmed
We are very pleased to announce that the dates of the 9th Experimental Archaeology Conference have been confirmed!
The conference will be held on Friday 16th through to Sunday the 18th of January, 2015 at both University College Dublin and the Irish National Heritage Park, Wexford.
We are very excited by the chance to take the conference slightly further afield, and hope that the excellent facilities and thriving experimental community in Ireland will make this a conference to remember.
The Call for Papers will be announced shortly, and the deadline for proposals will be 30th September 2014.
There will be two days of presentations and demonstrations at the UCD Centre for Experimental Archaeology and Ancient Technologies and a one-day field-trip to the Irish National Heritage Park, Ferrycarrig, Co. Wexford.
We will particularly welcome papers on aspects of experimental archaeology and pedagogy; on experiments and experiences in houses and dwellings; on embodied skills and knowledge in craft skills and tool/weapon use, and on food, cooking and society in the past, and on gender in experimental archaeology.
Further details will be added to the website as they become available.
