This website is run by Ruth Fillery-Travis and Roeland Paardekooper with the help of EXARC, and was set up following the 6th Experimental Archaeology Conference at York. This conference was established in 2006 and has since run annually at a variety of institutions across Europe.

We hope to provide a continuous web presence for the Experimental Archaeology Conference to compliment those sites set up by hosting institutions, in order to facilitate communication and advertisement of the conference. It is also hoped that we will be able to provide an archive of the titles and, in the future, abstracts of papers delivered at the conference, as well as links to conference reviews and news on publications arising from the conferences.

EXARC is the International Council of Museums Affiliated Organisation representing archaeological open-air museums and experimental archaeology. EXARC raises the standard of scientific research and public presentation among their membership through collaborative projects, conferences and publications.
